Unusual generator events can inflict significant damage and accelerate the equipment aging process.  Since these events occur infrequently, the plant operator may not have prior experience with any such event.  This Learning-Doc is intended to provide information to help an operator recognize an unusual event, should such an event occur, and take appropriate action to avoid the occurrence of such an event.

This specific Learning-Doc deals specifically with Stator Related Events such as the following:  Oil Accumulation in the Generator, Stator Cooling Water Runback, Stator Ground, Large Hydrogen Leaks, Crack in the Pressure Vessel or Support Structure, High Voltage Bushings, and Coolant Flow Restrictions.
